[24 Nov] Cheng Shin Rubber to Spend NT$12 Bln on New Taiwan Tire Plant

Cheng Shin Rubber Industry Co., Taiwan's largest tire maker by revenue, will spend NT$12 billion to build a new plant in western Taiwan's Changhua County, the company said in a statement Monday.
Construction will begin in June, Changhua-based Cheng Shin Rubber said in the statement.
The plant, which will take two years to build, will make passenger car and bus and truck tires, said a company finance official, who declined to be named.
The plant will make passenger car tires at an initial capacity of 14,000 tires/day, increasing the manufacturing capacity by about 10%-15%, she said.
It will produce bus and truck tires at an initial capacity of 3,000 tires/day, increasing the capacity by about 40%, she said.
