[09 Jan] Turkish 2009 Automotive Output at 869,953 Vehicles

Turkish automotive production fell to 869,953 vehicles in 2009 from 1.147 million vehicles in 2008, automotive association OSD said Friday, the Ihlas News Agency, or IHA, reported.

The automotive production figures include passenger cars, commercial vehicles and tractors.

Automakers in Turkey include Ford Otosan, Karsan, Hattat and Tofas.

In 2008, auto production rose 3% on the year to 1.17 million vehicles, while passenger car production fell 2% to 621,567 vehicles.
