Rise in spot rubber prices

On Saturday (20 March 2010), the spot rubber prices showed a better trend and the market continued its upward journey on covering purchases as domestic rubber futures ended firm on National Multi Commodity Exchange. Sheet rubber increased to Rs 153 from Rs 152.50 per kg amidst scattered transactions.

The April futures for RSS 4 rose to Rs 157.39 (155.94), May to Rs 159.33 (157.40), June to Rs 158.80 (158.10) and July to Rs 158.76 (157.57) per kg on National Multi Commodity Exchange.
Spot prices (Rs/kg) were: RSS-4: 153 (152.50); RSS-5: 152 (151); ungraded: 151 (150); ISNR 20: 151 (150) and latex 60%: 100 (99).
