Kottayam, Mar 18 (PTI) Continuing its uptrend in recent weeks, the price of natural rubber today hit an all-time high breaching the Rs 150 mark in domestic market on good demand from tyre companies driven by rising auto sales.

The price of RSS-4 grade, which was Rs 144.50 per kg a week ago, today touched Rs 151.50, traders here said.

The price in the domestic market has been ruling high compared to international market in the past couple of days.

In Singapore market, the price for RSS-2 category stood at Rs 148.71 today, while it was Rs 148.28 yesterday.

Similar spurts in the price were posted in other prominent market centres in Kulalampur and Bangkok also.

The price of natural rubber is all set to remain buoyant for some time due to shortfall in the production of natural rubber worldwide.
