Decline in spot rubber prices

On Monday (02 August 2010), the spot rubber prices declined as the subsiding rains have kept the buyers on sidelines. Sheet rubber declined to Rs 184.50 from Rs 185 per kg on buyer resistance.

The August futures for RSS 4 rose to Rs 186.40 (185.33), September to Rs 173.52 (170.30), October to Rs 163.43 (161.25) and November to Rs 162.50 (160.95) a kg on the National Multi Commodity Exchange.

Spot rates were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 184.50 (185); RSS-5: 178 (179); ungraded: 168 (169); ISNR 20: 157 (157) and latex 60 per cent: 108 (110).
