IRCo's WEEKLY MARKET SNAPSHOT: 25 - 29 October 2010

IRCo's DCP fell to 395.18 US cents/kg on Friday from 397.90 US cents/kg on Monday while most of physical rubber prices also moved downwards during the week on the back of continued long liquidations on rubber futures, especially Shanghai and Tokyo rubber futures.

At the same time, stock, foreign exchange and commodity markets were rather subdued as investors were awaiting a decision of the coming U.S Federal Reserve (Fed) meeting on 2 - 3 November that how much money the Fed will add to the U.S financial system through quantitative easing or asset swaps.

The Thai Meteorological Department announced on Sunday 31 October that the ten Southern provinces of Thailand will be covered with heavy rains in the coming week. There will be scattered thunderstorms in both Medan and Palembang of Indonesia, and there will be scattered thunderstorms in Perak and Pahang states and occasional storms in Johor state of Malaysia in the coming week.
